Geotab is seeking a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Technical Specialist who will be responsible for the day-to-day, hands-on build and execution of lifecycle email programs, ad hoc email campaigns, and related digital assets. This person will mainly be accountable for journey ideation and building, automation development and programming, testing and activation, using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. What You'll Do

As a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Technical Specialist your key area of responsibility will be to actively seek out and build automated, scalable solutions to improve engagement, leveraging the latest in Marketing Cloud's technology. This person creates custom emails, landing pages, queries, and more using intermediate-to-advanced programmatic scripting languages. You will be responsible for the implementation of the project tasks, as well as managing day-to-day activities. You will also need to provide regular status reports to key partners to ensure the project is on time and meeting expectations. You will need to work closely with tram across Geotab including, Geotab's Legal, Production, and Supply Chain teams, as well as communicate with external vendors.

To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through completion. The successful candidate will also be able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure timely results.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Set up and configure back-end data models, such as data extensions and contact data, necessary to power automated email journeys with cross-system integrated data points.
  • Plan, build, test, and execute key technical components related to email journeys, data capture, tagging and tracking, and more.
  • Build integrations between Marketing Cloud and other platforms, including scenarios writing and using REST and SOAP APIs, to trigger real-time communications and cross-system data sharing.
  • Extend Marketing Cloud usage beyond declarative (point-and-click) configuration, and build scalable solutions for customer email communications.
  • Recommend and implement advanced email automation processes and Einstein AI tools, employing the latest best practices, technologies, and strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Team Lead to execute daily operations of all lifecycle email programs and associated digital assets. This includes brainstorming and crafting journey concepts, developing and implementing automation, conducting thorough testing, and executing campaigns seamlessly using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Refine and enhance email communications by undertaking tasks such as coding/developing emails from the ground up, crafting and reviewing copy, coordinating creative elements, conducting render tests, troubleshooting, and other related responsibilities to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify technical and tactical strategies for customer communications, from requirements gathering and defining each program/campaign's back-end set-up and development, to deployment and reporting.
  • Create, code, and maintain various digital assets: HTML and plain text emails, interactive email forms, cloud pages, microsites, and more.
  • Leverage advanced SQL queries, AMPscript, and other scripting languages to enhance programs' targeting, design, and personalization.
  • Generate reports, identify successes, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist with advanced functions and duties to support skill gaps and ongoing improvements on the team.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.

What You'll Bring To The Role

  • 3-5 years work experience in email marketing, digital customer experience, or a similar role.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, building journeys and automations, writing queries, creating email programs/campaigns, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of email compliance standards and regulations, including CASL, CAN-SPAM, and GDPR/ePD.
  • Highly proficient programmatic and scripting language skills, including HTML, CSS, Java, AMPscript, SQL, APIs.
  • Understanding of email copy and design best practices across platforms and devices.
  • Experience with G Suite products e.g. Slides, Sheets, and Docs required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinker with the ability and willingness to pivot as business needs and expectations change.
  • Solid communications/presentation skills and the ability to work in a fluid corporate work environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of managing competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of the telematics/IoT industry is an asset.
