Product Marketing Manager, Commercial
Our overall company vision is to build the world's bank payment network and we are looking for an individual to help us join the dots between a fantastic product and huge growth potential in our core markets. Make no mistake, we are building a category and we intend to own it. To achieve this, we need someone with the right blend of commercial acumen, market insight, and executional excellence.
This role sits in the Commercial Strategy team, reporting to the Head of Commercial Product Marketing, and supports all GoCardless global regions. You will take full ownership of key commercial product marketing programs - from initial set up through to scaling them into repeatable, high-impact initiatives. Your focus will be on building and maturing programs that empower our global GTM teams with the messaging, positioning, and enablement they need to win in sales-led motions across multiple markets.
Success will be measured by your ability to act as the connective tissue between product and commercial teams — translating market, segment, and vertical insights into strategies that drive positioning, sharpen competitive differentiation, and deliver tangible commercial outcomes. You will work hand in hand with stakeholders across product, sales, and marketing to ensure our go to market approach is consistent, compelling and globally scalable.
What excites you
In the Commercial Strategy team at GoCardless, Product Marketing is all about making sure our world-class products translate into global commercial success. In this role you'll help bridge the gap between product, market insight, and our global GTM teams, ensuring we win in every region we operate.
- Equipping our customer facing teams to win - you'll make sure our brand, demand generation, sales, partnerships, and customer teams have the right positioning, messaging, tools, and data-driven proof points to outcompete the market.
- Scaling commercial programs, not just launches - rather than managing one-off launches, you'll design and roll out repeatable, high-impact commercial PMM programs across multiple regions — built to maximize adoption and sales impact.
- Deep market and segment intelligence - you'll act as a market, segment, and vertical expert — listening to and understanding customer needs, competitive dynamics, and buyer behaviour to guide our GTM decisions for both existing customers and new prospects.
There's a lot of work to be done, but one of our key tenets for 2025/26 is "do fewer things, better". We want to select the activities that will have the maximum impact on the commercial outcomes and focus on them. Key outcomes and supporting responsibilities will include:
- Generate demand by:
- Defining and evolving our ideal customer profiles (ICPs) and personas
- Owning the platform proposition for prospects and partners
- Driving a consistent messaging framework for global demand campaigns and SDR outreach
- Support sales to win by:
- Building competitive, value led collateral for targeted GTM execution across the funnel
- Equipping the sales organisation with enablement tools that improve win rates and deal velocity
- Help retain and grow customers by:
- Accelerating onboarding, activation, and adoption
- Driving share of wallet (SoW) and product usage growth
- Proactively surfacing cross-sell opportunities and positioning GoCardless suite at the right time, in the right way
What excites us
- You have strong quantitative analytical skills and are experienced in extracting insights from data.
- You know that talking to customers is the best way to understand the challenges they face, and frequently do so.
- Prior experience of taking innovative new B2B products and features to market across different segments.
- You believe that product launch doesn't stop at launch - adoption and business impact is how you measure yourself. You have developed innovative messaging, positioning and value proposition frameworks for complex problems and new products.
- You are adept at market research (qualitative and quantitative) and can demonstrate influencing business and product strategy as a result of that research.
- You have experience engaging with different stakeholders across the business, including product and engineering teams, rev-ops, sales, marketing (and more!) to solve customers problems.
- You enjoy working independently, given a set of objectives.
- You also enjoy cross-functional work with disparate areas of the business.
- You have excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills. You are comfortable with presenting your ideas to the senior leadership team.
We don't expect you to meet every requirement. If you're excited by this role, we encourage you to apply.
