Product Manager, GenAI Workspace Safety and Security

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We are part of the mission-driven Workspace Abuse and Safety Protections (WASP). We build ML-powered enforcement to prevent harmful abuse across the Workspace.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product management, or a related technical role.
  • 3 years of experience developing or launching products or technologies within Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML).
  • Experience working with AI technologies and generative models.
  • Experience taking products from conception to launch.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 5 years of experience in product management, specifically bringing innovative software products to market.
  • 4 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • Track record of managing product roadmaps and executing complex launches in an ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale solutions to evaluate content safety and prompt injection risks for all Gemini-powered Workspace launches.
  • Develop innovative methods to monitor AI feature safety and proactively identify emerging risks.
  • Streamline the setup of safety and prompt injection mitigations to minimize potential vulnerabilities.
  • Partner closely with the GenAI Workspace Safety and Security (GAWSS) team, Trust and Safety (operations/evals), and Policy teams.
  • Monitor the Workspace compliance landscape and ensure all upcoming safety requirements are addressed.
