Strategic Financial Analyst, Marketing Finance

In this role, you will be a Finance partner to the Marketing team across Google’s consumer applications (Search, Maps, Gemini, etc.) with a greater focus on Gemini. You will also work in close partnership with talented finance colleagues from across Marketing, Product, and Accounting. Across the consumer applications portfolio, you will drive long range and annual planning, portfolio analyses and reporting, to provide visibility to leadership and influence their decision making. You will run FP&A processes and improve tools and processes, in order to drive efficient operations and scalable insight. On Gemini you will dive deeper to partner with Marketing and drive accuracy in Marketing’s investments.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$162,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in high data volume environments in software, internet, media or telecoms industries.
  • Experience with business resource planning.
  • Experience with process improvement and project management.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools such as SQL, Hyperion, Python, R, or other coding experience.
  • Familiarity with financial planning and analysis processes, finance operations, and accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results for the Consumer Apps Marketing business.
  • Collaborate with in-region finance teams to develop and maintain forecasts for the Consumer Apps Marketing business.
  • Partner with Gemini subset of Consumer Apps Marketing to execute business plans, implement metrics to measure business results and success, and provide decision support to stakeholders.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for resource optimization.
