Part - time Graphic Designer

Job Title

This position is responsible for assisting in the design, creative direction, and production of publications, printed materials, promotional/specialty items, display graphics, presentations, videos, and interactive communications to support the City of Yukon's Parks and Recreation Department in all communication and marketing efforts.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with various Parks and Recreation team members to develop flyers, posters, banners, and other signage for recreation events and programs.
• Reviewing the department's website and registration platforms to ensure adherence to branding standards. Assisting with website updates as needed.
• Monitoring all print and electronic communications throughout the department for brand consistency. Collaborating with fellow staff to support quality and consistency in all communications.
• Assisting in compiling marketing plan materials. Designing, coordinating, and producing high-quality publications and materials in support of the department's goals and initiatives.
• Taking pictures and videos at events and programs to use for promotional materials and website content.
• Designing print advertisements for newspapers, magazines, and other publications.
• Assisting with digital marketing efforts in the department.
• Working within budget to make the best use of the City's resources.
• Performing any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications include:

• General knowledge of graphic design, marketing, etc.
• Equivalent 2 years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Some experience with design and desktop publishing skills in PC and MAC environment preferred.
• Knowledge of printing processes.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to establish and meet deadlines.
• Position requires extended periods of time in a stationary position with detailed computer work.
• A valid driver's license is required.
