Sr. Director Of Marketing
Trinidad State College is seeking a Sr. Director of Marketing who will play a critical role in shaping the public presence, positioning, and brand of Trinidad State College (TSC) by creating and executing marketing strategies to advance and promote TSC as the preferred higher education choice in southern Colorado. The Senior Director will also act as the college's Public Information Officer. Duties may also include special projects in conjunction with the System Office (CCCS) executive staff, academics, workforce, student development and outreach efforts of the college. This position will be located on the Trinidad Campus but serves both campuses located in Trinidad and Alamosa.
Examples Of Duties
Strategic Leadership
- Developing, managing, and executing brand and marketing campaigns and strategies to enhance awareness and reputation to prospective students.
- Leading efforts to market and promote TSC academic programs, scholarships, events, and activities through coordinated marketing campaigns. As needed, manage external agencies to support this work.
- Overseeing the development of the TSC brand and visual identity in relation to enrollment management goals
- Monitoring and providing the TSC leadership team with regular updates on trends in the higher education landscape, including regular benchmarking of peer colleges and programs to support strategy and decision-making.
Creative Direction
- Ensuring brand consistency across all media while leveraging brand guidelines to elevate the presentation of TSC experience.
- Branded, experiential marketing during programs and events.
- Establishing a compelling and effective web presence.
- Ensuring all collateral is modern, compelling, and effective in reaching and converting audiences.
- Incorporating technical solutions, such as AI into the creative and efficiency mix.
Analytics
- Expected to synthesize complex data to make clear and effective recommendations for targeting populations and building the admissions funnel.
- Serve as a content area expert around some of our key vendors for prospective acquisition and management to identify the most effective opportunities to expand and build our applicant pool.
- Track performance and conversion of various initiatives to identify new markets for growth and increase conversion towards institutional priorities.
- Provide insights and identify new and emerging opportunities to reach prospects and facilitate efficient conversion through the marketing funnel. Knowledgeable about the evolving landscape of prospective acquisition and modes of reaching students and their influences across various marketing platforms.
- Evaluate market presence and strategies to leverage third-party content to reach new audiences.
Cross Functional Team Building and Management
- In collaboration with the Vice President of Operations and Workforce Development and other senior leadership, develop the staffing plan and budget for the marketing department.
- Recruit and hire team members.
- Lead, coach, develop, and supervise team members to include volunteers or student employees.
- Hire and manage any outside contractors or vendors needed to support the communications and marketing program.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement and adaptation to new communication technologies and practices.
- Act as the college's Public Information Officer. (PIO)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Communication, Graphic Design, or related field; with seven years' experience in a marketing environment such as Advertising, Radio/Television, Digital Media, or similar field.

- Strong background in Marketing, Digital Media, Graphics Design, AI, and Web Management.
- Higher education marketing background preferred.
- Demonstrated experience and success developing and implementing marketing campaigns in traditional and digital media environments.
- Excellent oral, written communication and strong proof-reading skills.

- Ability to work autonomously and proactively.
- Demonstrated ability and success managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Excellent Technical skills, experience and competencies to include:
- Graphic Design.
- Adobe CC line - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Creation of marketing and social media collateral.
- Producing brochures, flyers, pamphlets, and multipage documents.
- Print production related equipment, including Mac and/or PC based computers,
- Use of printers, scanners, paper cutters, folders etc.
- Photography and videography.
- Video production related equipment, including cameras, microphones, computers, etc.
- Apple video production platform - Final Cut Pro X
- Web management/Content Management experience
- Use of AI in the marketing/creative realm.
