Truss Designer

A growing manufacturer of floor and roof trusses is seeking a skilled Truss Designer with extensive experience in multi-family and commercial truss design using MiTek software. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with sales, production, and quality teams on a variety of residential and light commercial projects.

Employment Type: Full time / On site

Key Responsibilities

• Design roof and floor trusses for single-family, multi-family, and light commercial projects
• Use MiTek software to generate layouts and 3D models
• Size and specify EWP and hanger connections as needed
• Coordinate closely with sales, production, and quality teams
• Manage RFIs and collaborate with external stakeholders to resolve design issues
• Maintain clean and organized digital files using file server navigation
• Ensure accurate, code-compliant, and efficient truss layouts
• Communicate clearly and concisely with clients, teammates, and management
• Provide technical support for customers and internal teams
• Work both independently and collaboratively to meet design deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of truss design experience
• Proficient with MiTek (required)
• Comfortable reading and interpreting construction documents
• Strong math skills and attention to detail
• Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
• "Get-it-done" mindset with proven project delivery
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
• High school diploma or GED (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• CAD and architectural design background is a plus
• Degree from a 4-year accredited university (preferred)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Navigate stairs as needed
• Close and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus required
