Research Fellow (Grade 1) – Mental Health Codesign (ALIVE)

Join Griffith University's Centre for Mental Health and contribute to a clinical trial designed to improve outcomes for people living with severe mental illness. Working within Professor Amanda Wheeler's research group, you'll play a key role in collaborating with researchers, services, and people with lived experience to design and evaluate meaningful solutions.

As a Research Fellow, you will:

  • Coordinate and contribute to ethics applications, research agreements, and data access processes for human research.
  • Apply your expertise in mixed-methods research to design protocols, collect and analyze data, and publish high-quality research.
  • Manage projects day-to-day, including scheduling, resourcing, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and people with lived experience to codesign innovative solutions.
  • Ensure project milestones are delivered within timeframes and budgets.

This is a fixed term (12 month appointment), part-time position (0.4FTE) and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Salary Range The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level RF1 range $88,689 - $103,888 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $103,766- $121,548 per annum.

Griffith University's sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

To be successful in this role, you will have a completed PhD (or equivalent qualifications/work experience) in a relevant field. In addition to this, you will have:

  • Proven experience in mixed-methods research, particularly in conceptualising research, writing protocols, and publishing findings.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage costs, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • High-level interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with researchers, clinicians, and community partners.
  • Experience working independently and in a team, with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills. Experience in graduate student supervision is also desirable.
  • A high level of scientific literacy, as well as verbal and written communication.
