Role Summary and Impact

We are seeking an exceptional Marketing Science Manager to join our friendly and collaborative team. This strategic role is ideal for professionals with experience in media and marketing who are analytical, strategic, and eager to develop in a dynamic environment. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Planning and Addressability Strategy, you will be key to developing and maintaining our audience and planning solutions within the Planning & Addressability pillar of the Marketing Science team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the team in the evolution of WPP Media Solutions' Audience Solutions and Planning Strategy.
  • Become an expert in our planning tools, building knowledge and supporting adoption of Choreograph tools within Open Media Studios.
  • Support in the documentation and delivery of training for key tools.
  • Support the team in the onboarding of data from key partners, ensuring seamless integration into our proprietary tools and platforms.
  • Document key workflows and work alongside the team to design more efficient workflows.
  • Communicate with our partners to ensure smooth running of the process.
  • Be able to support Solution Planning in the application of Marketing science practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key data partners, and support the Senior Manager in driving advancements in audience solutions and promoting best practices.
  • Create and execute campaign data strategies alongside Solution Planning which deliver campaign effectiveness for our clients.
  • Support the team in delivering key projects, working across multiple projects concurrently.
  • Understand key planning and data strategy processes, and planning principles, and support the team in driving improvements and automation.
  • Support the team in the successful implementation of new and evolving planning and audience solutions across relevant channels.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture, facilitating communication, coordinating meetings, and maintaining documentation to support knowledge sharing.

Skills and Experience

The role requires a blend of analytical, organisational, strategic, and interpersonal skills. Candidates comfortable with data, project management, and cross-team communication will find this role rewarding. Adaptability, initiative, and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Marketing background with Analytical & Technical Skills:

  • Strong data analysis and interpretation abilities, with the capacity to translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles, audience segmentation, measurement frameworks, and campaign effectiveness data.
  • Excellent numerical competency and the ability to visualise data to drive business results.

Organisational & Project Management Skills:

  • Excellent organisational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, track progress, and support team workflows.
  • Process-driven and detail-oriented, capable of designing end-to-end processes by drawing on knowledge from all business teams.
  • Ability to drive projects from inception to completion, demonstrating independent initiative and proactive steps.

Strategic Thinking:

  • Understanding of how data and insights drive marketing effectiveness and business growth.
  • Creative and strategic thinker, able to develop solutions that address client business challenges.
  • Confidence in presenting ideas, especially when critical to the execution design, to future-proof Media Solutions capabilities.
  • Creative thinking and an analytical approach when problem-solving or addressing challenges.

Collaboration & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to communicate relevant information to all levels within the business in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ability to communicate complex problems in a simplified manner for end business users, with clear solution benefits (client or internal).
  • Proficient in utilising excellent written, verbal, and face-to-face communication to best meet the requirements of each situation.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment.

Agility, Problem-Solving & Initiative:

  • Resourceful and solution-oriented, willing to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing ambiguity, and adapting to changing priorities and evolving business objectives.
