Structural Designer

Seeking an experienced Structural Designer with strong industrial design and drafting experience to support structural system layouts, construction documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination for complex projects. This role involves developing models, drawings, details, and design deliverables while supporting engineers and project teams throughout all phases of design and construction. The ideal candidate will have advanced experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam, along with the ability to lead design efforts, coordinate across disciplines, mentor junior designers, and support project scope, schedule, and quality objectives.

Pay: $34.13 - $43.65 per hour DOE

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and related drafting/modeling software
  • Experience with structural system layouts, design coordination, and construction documentation
  • Ability to perform model reviews and coordinate multidisciplinary designs
  • Strong understanding of project scope, schedule, budgeting, and identifying scope creep
  • Experience mentoring junior designers and reviewing design work for accuracy and completeness
  • Ability to function as an area, building, or system lead designer
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience preparing labor estimates and coordinating project deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multi-discipline teams
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities:

  • Create, coordinate, and publish structural design deliverables including drawings, models, details, and construction documents
  • Develop structural system layouts and participate in design approach discussions and technical solutions
  • Coordinate designs with engineers, architects, contractors, and other disciplines
  • Review and back-check designs for quality, accuracy, and completeness
  • Participate in project meetings, status updates, and coordination discussions
  • Perform field surveys and verify existing site conditions
  • Review specifications and support quality design standards
  • Process submittals, respond to RFIs, and resolve design conflicts
  • Provide technical guidance to junior designers and support project leadership
  • Support project schedules, labor estimates, and multidisciplinary coordination activities
