Senior Director, Sales and Marketing IAI

Summary

Responsible for establishing, driving, and executing the strategic direction of the IAI Sales and Marketing at the country level, across key market brands. Accountable for building the operational structure, leading product launches, and defining and executing business plans including distribution, patient support program, medical, value & access, and commercial goals. Ensures delivery of annual financial targets and drives cross-functional collaboration in alignment with regional and global strategies. Builds and maintains a strong organizational culture and team environment while coaching and leading talent development within the Dermatology team.

Duties & Responsibilities – Thematic Organization

1. Strategic Leadership & Market Direction

  • Define a clear direction for the country, aligning local execution with the broader corporate vision including digital transformation and enterprise priorities, balancing long-term ambitions with short-term market dynamics.
  • Lead, develop, and implement market entry and go-to-market strategies for portfolio launches, ensuring timely and on-budget execution.
  • Influence stakeholders, build market readiness, create awareness, and maintain a continuous feedback loop between market shaping and access to sustain growth.
  • Confidently make irreversible decisions with accountability, balancing calculated risk-taking with strategic foresight in a fast-moving environment.

2. Commercial & Financial Performance

  • Drive commercial activities to meet annual revenue and strategic targets, including brand and team spend and ensuring overall business performance.
  • Enable early sales opportunities post-authorization within compliance, medical, and legal frameworks.
  • Develop annual country brand plans and accurate product forecasts.

3. Market Access, Reimbursement & External Stakeholder Management

  • Work cross-functionally to define and execute commercialization and reimbursement strategies in collaboration with Value, Access & Pricing teams.
  • Develop compliant relationships with patient advocacy groups and understand funding, clinical, and access decision processes to identify key VAP stakeholders.

4. Marketing Excellence & Customer Strategy

  • Lead segmentation, targeting, and customer strategy to optimize field deployment in complex multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Lead development of educational programs, promotional activities, and sales materials in collaboration with agencies.
  • Ensure strong presence at national and international congresses with appropriately targeted customer engagement strategies.
  • Lead planning and support PSP teams design and operations of a customized support and distribution model by product/ molecule

5. Medical & Scientific Alignment

  • Support medical teams in executing country medical plans and scientific engagement.
  • Ensure alignment between scientific strategy and commercial market strategy.

6. Organizational Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and develop a high-performing team with capabilities required for successful product launches.
  • Foster a strong organizational culture and team environment.
  • Lead with vision, influence, and authenticity; mobilize teams and partners through strong communication skills.
  • Build strong cross-functional collaboration across functions and geographies.

7. Governance, Compliance & Business Integrity

  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal guidelines.
  • Drive a culture of business integrity and ethics.
  • Apply a digital and analytical mindset to stay ahead of market and stakeholder evolution.
  • Collaborate with regional counterparts to share learnings, best practices and seek help while actively contributing to leadership teams/ work streams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Over 10 years of experience in promoting specialist pharmaceutical products, preferably within immunology, dermatology, or related areas.
  • Proven success in specialist sales, product management, and sales leadership.
  • Experience in market access is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and act as an effective team player.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and proactive approach.
  • Advanced IT skills with demonstrated ability to adopt and utilize digital tools.
  • English fluency required, and ability to operate in French a strong asset.
  • Extensive experience in Business Unit P&L management, including responsibility for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Successful track record of product launches, including pre-launch market shaping activities.
  • Strong background in financial planning and resource allocation within commercial organizations.
  • Experience in leading and developing first-line managers as well as cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in matrixed and multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Expertise in leveraging data analytics and digital tools to optimize commercial performance.

Location:

Montreal area (Head office based)

Travel: Expect to travel up to 20% of time
