Job Description
Role Purpose
The Assistant Marketing Manager drives integrated, data-informed marketing to grow audiences, registrations, and brand awareness across exhibitions, conferences, and digital programs. The role blends hands-on execution with light leadership—co-owning campaign planning, overseeing agencies and freelancers, ensuring brand consistency, and optimizing performance across paid, owned, and earned channels. Primary focus is on digital and campaign operations; the role provides secondary support for Communications & Brand Messaging and Events as needed. The Marketing Executive is the primary owner of these two workstreams, with this role providing backup and surge capacity during peak periods, live events, and leave cover.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrated Planning & Coordination • Co-develop annual and campaign-level marketing plans, budgets, and channel mixes aligned to business goals and event timelines. • Build and maintain campaign calendars, asset trackers, and project timelines to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to align messaging, offers, and deliverables. • Maintain brand voice and visual identity across all materials and touchpoints.
- Digital Marketing (Paid, Owned, Earned) • Plan and execute paid media across Meta, LinkedIn, and Google Ads; set up targeting, A/B tests, and optimization to meet CPA/ROAS goals. • Manage and update websites and landing pages (e.g., WordPress), implementing SEO best practices for discoverability and conversion. • Own email/EDM planning, segmentation, template setup, automation, deliverability, and ongoing optimization. • Implement SEO/SEM initiatives (keyword research, on-page optimization, metadata, internal linking; coordinate backlink/outreach as needed). • Ensure consistent UTM tagging, audience segmentation and consent management, and end-to-end campaign QA across channels.
- Content, Creative, and Social • Brief, produce, or review creative assets (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and short-form video edits to support campaigns and events. • Develop and maintain social media content calendars (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), including copy, visuals, and community engagement. • Partner with designers, writers, and agencies to deliver on-brand creative; manage reviews and approvals. • Support the development of printed materials (brochures, signage, onsite guides) and ensure timely production and delivery.
- Communications & Brand Messaging (supporting role; primary lead: Marketing & Communications Executive) • Draft and adapt marketing copy across web, email, ads, and social; support PR/media materials (press releases, media kits) as assigned. • Maintain messaging frameworks for campaigns, speakers, partners, and exhibitors; ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand consistency. • Support bilingual communications quality where relevant; review translations/localizations for accuracy and tone. • Contribute to partner/influencer outreach and asset coordination during peak periods or coverage windows.
- Data, Analytics & Optimization • Track performance using GA4, ad platform dashboards, and email metrics; build weekly/monthly reporting packs. • Define and monitor KPIs (registrations, CPA, CTR, conversion rate, MQLs, ROAS, engagement) and lead test-and-learn roadmaps. • Translate insights into actionable optimizations for targeting, creative, messaging, and channel mix. • Maintain data hygiene, list governance, and compliance with applicable privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR/PDPA as relevant).
- Events & Campaign Enablement (supporting role; primary lead: Marketing & Communications Executive) • Promote exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and webinars; coordinate agendas, speaker assets, and promotional materials. • Coordinate webinar/seminar execution (landing pages, reminders, host/speaker logistics, post-event follow-up). • Provide onsite and virtual event support (registration flows, lead capture, signage, collateral, vendor coordination). • Liaise with external agencies and vendors to deliver social, creative, media, and print workstreams; provide surge coverage and leave cover.
- Operations, Quality & Stakeholder Management • Enforce brand, legal, and quality standards; proof and QA all marketing materials and links prior to launch. • Maintain asset libraries, naming conventions, and documentation for repeatable and scalable workflows. • Raise POs, track budgets, and manage agencies/freelancers to SLAs and agreed scopes. • Mentor/guide marketing executives or interns as needed. • Support ad-hoc initiatives and evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.
