Senior Electrical Designer
A power client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to support power plant projects with a strong emphasis on hands-on design execution. This individual will serve in a lead-capacity role, providing technical direction while remaining actively involved in day-to-day design work. The role requires ownership of deliverables, accountability for progress, and a strong focus on productivity and performance tracking.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain detailed electrical designs and models for power generation facilities, including switchgear, transformers, step-up transformers, and generators.
- Lead electrical design efforts while working directly "in the trenches" alongside the project team.
- Execute design work personally and ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Provide regular progress updates, including work completed vs. planned, productivity tracking, claiming, and earned value reporting.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and construction teams to support project milestones. Identify and resolve design issues efficiently to maintain schedule and budget adherence.
