Test Engineering Technician I

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Engineering Technician I to support the testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electronic components, assemblies, and systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with test engineers and quality teams to ensure that products meet performance, safety, and compliance standards before release.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, signal generators, and automated test systems.
  • Perform functional, environmental, and performance tests on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), subassemblies, and final products.
  • Interpret engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures to perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Document and report test results, deviations, and root causes of failures; assist in corrective action efforts.
  • Assist in the development and validation of test fixtures, jigs, and automated test programs (ATE).
  • Collaborate with engineering to improve product designs and manufacturability from a testability perspective.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy and calibration of testing equipment.
  • Support the transition of new products from engineering to manufacturing by validating test plans and protocols.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in electronics testing or a similar technical role.
  • Proficient with test instruments and troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong understanding of analog/digital circuits and embedded systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) or scripting (LabVIEW, Python, TestStand, etc.).
  • Familiarity with IPC standards, ESD handling, and industry compliance testing (e.g., FCC, CE).
  • Experience in an electronics manufacturing facility.
