Assistant General Counsel – Commercial Legal

Jabil is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated attorney to join our Commercial legal team. In this role, you will partner with and support Jabil business teams on a variety of commercial transactions and advise on other business-related legal subjects. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the manufacturing industry, in particular drafting and negotiating manufacturing services agreements and ancillary commercial contracts.

Working with the senior management team of Jabil's Commercial Legal team to structure new business transactions, draft and implement supporting contracts, and manage ongoing legal issues facing the business. Supporting new acquisitions as needed by conducting due diligence reviews of applicable contracts and managing integration of new businesses into the existing legal framework of the Business Unit.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing the lifecycle of a wide range of commercial agreements.
  • Developing a deep understanding of Jabil’s business model and risk profile.
  • Developing strategic business relationships with internal business clients and Jabil’s external customers.
  • Collaborating with other subject matter experts.
  • Functioning independently within a dynamic corporate environment.
  • Quickly and concisely analyzing and summarizing complicated legal documents.
  • Managing outside counsel when external advice is sought.
  • Exhibiting excellent legal reasoning, strategic thinking skills, strong teamwork orientation, and personal integrity.
  • Managing higher level risk, complexity, and business impact.
  • Recommending and driving best practices.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Management and supervisory responsibilities include:

  • Reports to VP, Commercial Legal.
  • May supervise professional staff or less experienced attorneys.

Requirements/job qualifications include:

  • Graduate of an ABA or foreign-equivalent law school, member of a bar in good standing, eligible to practice law in Florida.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of legal experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, good judgment, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, motivated and self-starter, ability to resolve conflict.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Sound and practical legal and business judgment.
  • Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively.
  • Amenable to attending team calls with business counterparts based in Europe, Asia, and across North America.
