NPI Focused Plastics Process Engineering Role

NPI focused, plastics process engineering role. Leading new mould tool introduction activities; including process development (SIM, decoupled moulding), FOTs at toolmakers, FATs, process transfer to-site and process handover to operations.

This is an on-site role, with travel ranging on average 10-50% within any given month (project activities dependant).

Summary/Brief:

Develops and implements production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most efficient manner for new and existing moulding processes. Monitors the molding process; troubleshooting problem processes and assisting in resolving quality issues. Provides technical expertise on various projects/production jobs and processes as required.

Education/Training/Experience:

• BS Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of Lean continuous improvement techniques including statistics & DOE.
• Knowledge of polymer materials and injection molding processing.
• High level of c-GMP in IS013485, safe working practices and awareness.

Responsibilities of Position:

• Implement the start-up of new/existing projects/production jobs, optimizing cost, efficiency and quality.
• Establish and ensure process control and maintains appropriate documentation.
• Monitor the assembly/moulding running in production; troubleshoot problems associated with processes and assist in resolving quality issues.
• Establish processes for new product lines; document product development and changes; evaluate new product performance and monitor new tool design.
• Debug moderately complex problems within a portion of new systems, tooling and automation.
• Implement experiments to enhance processes as well as improve yields and utilization through reduced cycle and efficient set up.
• Implement maintenance changes in process improvements; propose or specify repair alteration of automation while ensuring adequate documentation is maintained.
• Supports all company quality programs and initiatives.
• Timeliness in addressing Quality System Requirements.
• Principles of data integrity must be strictly adhered to.
• All activities to be performed in strict accordance with the Quality Management System.
• Provides direction to operational team members as necessary.
• Provide functional and technical mentoring and coaching to process moulding technicians and other operations team members to build our knowledge of Scientific Injection moulding across our Value/Customer stream areas.
• Travel as required to support Customer/Value Stream and/or training at vendor/customer sites.
• Constantly seeks to improve work processes; has a quality-first mentality; learns from internal and external best practices to apply to her/his work.
• Supports all company Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; supporting all company quality programs and initiatives. Strictly adhere to PPE requirements.
• Must take personal accountability for your own safety. Support culture of safety management through compliance with all safety policies, safety observation reporting and proactive involvement in Jabil AIM and Safety First programmes.
• 100% Compliance on Monthly Safety Procedures Training.
• Ensures compliance with all company policies and practices in areas such as safety and all regulatory compliance.
• Role model and promote the organisations Values and Behaviours.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.
