Design Manager (Civil)

The Design Manager (Civil) is responsible for providing consultancy and engineering services in the Water and Wastewater market in the ANZ region. The role will be responsible for assisting with project delivery, design management and project management and assisting with positioning and winning projects involving a range of services. The successful candidate will assist commercial, project management, engineering, and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver, and operate a range of projects. This role will also support leaders of the water and wastewater team, in terms of team development and growth, building design capability and growing the section portfolio. Key to this role will be the interface with Global Delivery Centres (GDC) to improve Global Integrated Delivery (GID) capability and meet targets.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Deliver technically excellent designs and consultancy services.
  • Lead project delivery on cost and time resulting in client satisfaction.
  • Assist with driving business development and winning work.
  • Identify and support the pursuit of future opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong key client relationships.
  • Represent the team at client meetings and events.
  • Collaborate closely with Jacobs client management team to identify emerging opportunities with clients.
  • Further develop Project Manager and Designated Project Executive (DPE) skills.
  • Develop design management functions on projects.
  • Maintain compliance with Jacobs QA procedures, including the deliverables review QA process.
  • Facilitate the technical development of more junior resources to meet market requirements.
  • Engage with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching.
  • Promote safety culture within the organisation and with our clients.
