Jacobs is seeking a highly experienced Road And Temporary Traffic Management (Ttm) Design Lead to join our dynamic Infrastructure team in Dubai. This pivotal role supports high-profile infrastructure projects across the Middle East, focusing on the design, development, and review of Temporary Traffic Management (Ttm) solutions. You'll be instrumental in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant traffic flow during complex construction phases by creating robust and innovative Ttm designs that adhere strictly to local regulations and international standards.

As a key member of our design team, you'll primarily:

• Direct the comprehensive development and approval of Ttm plans, ensuring they address all project requirements and stakeholder needs while prioritizing public safety and efficient traffic operations.
• Design complex Temporary Traffic Management (Ttm) plans in alignment with local regulations (e.g., Rta, Itc guidelines) and international standards (e.g., Mutcd), encompassing lane closures, diversions, and intricate traffic flow adjustments.
• Ensure all Ttm designs are optimized to minimize disruptions, prioritize public safety, and seamlessly accommodate various construction requirements.
• Manage rigorous traffic simulations and analysis to develop and validate Ttm design concepts, ensuring optimal traffic flow and operational efficiency during construction.

Design Review & Validation:

• Perform in-depth reviews of Ttm designs prepared by other designers, providing expert feedback and ensuring adherence to design principles, project specifications, and regulatory compliance.
• Validate design calculations, drawings, and methodologies to confirm the robustness and feasibility of proposed Ttm solutions.
• Ensure all Ttm designs are fully compliant with relevant local regulations and international standards, preparing necessary documentation for approvals.
• Proactively identify potential traffic-related design risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies within the Ttm plans to prevent project delays or public safety issues.

Stakeholder Coordination & Approvals:

• Liaise extensively with local road authorities, municipalities, and traffic police to secure design approvals for all Ttm plans.
• Work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and the client to ensure the design of traffic management strategies is fully aligned with overall project timelines and objectives.
• Analyze traffic data to inform Ttm design improvements and validate the efficacy of proposed measures.
• Prepare and present detailed design reports on Ttm strategies, risks, and proposed solutions to stakeholders.

What skills you'll bring:

• Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 10–15 years of progressive and dedicated design experience in road and traffic engineering, with a strong, proven focus on temporary traffic management (Ttm) design for large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Design Firm Background: Demonstrated prior design experience gained specifically within a recognized design consultancy firm.
• Regional Expertise: Strong familiarity with road and traffic management design practices and regulations specific to the middle east.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Demonstrate proficiency or good understanding in traffic engineering software tools.
• A systematic approach to hazard identification, risk management, and the development of effective mitigation strategies.
• Experience with road safety audit (Rsa) procedures would be desirable.
• Permitting Experience: Proven experience with permit application processes and navigating regulatory compliance for Ttm designs.
• Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and coordination skills to effectively manage design interfaces and liaise with diverse stakeholders to achieve design approvals.
