Product Manager

General Summary: Plans and directs activities concerned with specifications, application, and quality standards for all case ready products. Analyzes process reports and troubleshoots problems to correct all quality issues. Works to create and monitor cost savings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts quality control testing on products and raw materials on the plant floor, warehouse, and distribution centers.
  • Utilizes and/or adapts inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, makes suggestions about procedures, standards, and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
  • Investigate and determine the cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures.
  • Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices.
  • Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, products, or process quality and reliability.
  • Confers with plants, suppliers, and customers to achieve product quality to specification.
  • Managing and maintaining yield standards.
  • Managing and updating costing files for products.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Compiles and maintains inspections records and quality audits, yields and other reports.
  • Maintains KPIs, 5s program.
  • Engage in process improvement plans.
  • May assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of one-year supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in quality control in a retail or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in food manufacturing quality assurance preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.
  • Good math skills.
  • Must be well-organized with good attention to detail.
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others.
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Requirements:

Activities: Manufacturing work on the plant floor, standing or sitting for long hours, bending, stooping, and lifting.

Hearing: Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information, sometimes with loud background noise.

Repetitive Motion: Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.

Physical Strength: Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day.

Working Conditions: Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are around freezing, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their work day.

As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, medical, and dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment.
  • Paid Time Off: Sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays.
  • 401(k): Company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule.
  • Base salary range of $90,000-110,000.
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company's annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
