Director, Creative Marketing

This is a high-impact creative leadership role focused on redefining how a fast-growing consumer technology brand communicates with its customers. You will be responsible for shaping the voice, tone, and emotional resonance of all customer-facing messaging across lifecycle and organic channels. The role blends strategic brand thinking with hands-on execution, requiring you to both define and personally craft high-performing copy. You will transform functional, transactional communications into engaging, trust-building experiences that strengthen customer relationships. Working closely with product, growth, and customer insights teams, you will help reimagine how customers perceive and connect with the brand. This is a rare opportunity to build a brand voice from the ground up in a high-scale, data-driven environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the transformation of customer communications across email, SMS, CRM, and in-app messaging into a cohesive, emotionally resonant brand voice
  • Personally write and refine high-impact copy across lifecycle campaigns, product messaging, and customer touchpoints
  • Collaborate with product, design, growth, and insights teams to align messaging with user needs and business goals
  • Develop a consistent tone of voice and messaging framework that builds trust, engagement, and long-term customer loyalty
  • Translate complex, transactional topics into clear, human, and engaging communication
  • Engage directly with customers and community channels (including social platforms and forums) to understand sentiment and inform messaging strategy
  • Overhaul existing lifecycle communications to improve engagement, conversion, and retention
  • Potentially expand scope into broader organic brand storytelling and social content strategy as impact grows

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in creative marketing, copywriting, or customer communications within consumer-facing brands
  • Proven expertise in email and SMS campaign writing with measurable performance impact
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in copywriting, storytelling, and brand communication
  • Ability to simplify complex or technical topics into clear, emotionally engaging messaging
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments, ideally startups
  • Strong understanding of audience development, product positioning, and lifecycle marketing
  • Familiarity with digital communities and platforms such as Reddit or social media ecosystems
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor while influencing cross-functional teams
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to advocate for brand value in data-driven environments
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
