Design Consultant - Remote

Accountabilities

  • Design Optimization: Utilize simulation and engineering tools to analyze and optimize Autostore layouts and processes, ensuring maximum operational efficiency and storage density.
  • Data Analysis: Gather and analyze data related to warehouse operations, including inventory flow, storage requirements, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Simulation Modeling: Develop and run simulation models to predict system performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose design improvements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and sales teams to gather requirements and ensure designs align with client objectives and industry best practices.
  • Client Engagement: Present design solutions and simulation results to clients, providing clear explanations of the benefits and potential impact on their operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually enhance Autostore designs and operational strategies.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and simulation reports to support project implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse design, operations, or related roles, preferably focused on automated systems such as AutoStore.
  • Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, FlexSim) and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and modeling.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management practices is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
