This executive role offers the opportunity to lead and scale a high-performing marketing organization in a fast-growing, global environment. The VP of Marketing will own the full marketing function, including demand generation, product marketing, corporate marketing, and brand design, driving awareness, pipeline, and customer engagement. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position is part of the leadership team and will contribute to strategic business decisions while ensuring flawless execution of marketing initiatives. The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making, experimentation, and the integration of AI tools to optimize performance. The successful candidate will also mentor and grow a 17-person marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and measurable impact on growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the full marketing organization, including demand generation, product marketing, corporate marketing, and brand design, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive brand awareness and discoverability to position the company as the default choice for companies paying people globally.
  • Own marketing-driven pipeline generation across both sales-led and self-serve motions, testing new channels and audiences to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, contributing to company strategy and influencing cross-functional decisions.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of experimentation and AI-driven innovation.
  • Establish analytical rigor and data-driven decision-making processes for all marketing initiatives.
  • Champion a test-and-learn approach to continuously optimize campaigns, messaging, and growth strategies.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of marketing experience with deep expertise in demand generation, growth marketing, or related functions.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing marketing teams in growth-stage startups (50M+ revenue, 150-500 employees).
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to model forecasts, interrogate assumptions, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Broad business acumen with the ability to reason about overall business strategy beyond marketing.
  • Founder mentality: ability to think like an owner, reason from first principles, and contribute insights to executive decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience operating in asynchronous, documentation-first environments.
  • Experience integrating AI into marketing processes and fostering a culture of experimentation.
