As a postdoctoral researcher you will plan and run experiments, analyse data as well as prepare publication-quality figures, and draft manuscripts. The successful candidate will present results at national and international conferences.
This postdoctoral position is focused on skeletal growth and the mechanisms of its maintenance following radiation injury. The successful candidate will be expected to plan and conduct experimental research to reveal basic mechanisms relating to skeletal disorders arising from childhood cancer treatments. More specifically, duties will include collecting and analysing human tissues, maintaining a colony of mice, processing and analysing murine samples, devising and conducting irradiation in vivo. Methodologies include confocal microscopy, histological and histochemical staining, immunofluoresence, multi-target in situ hybridisation and spatial transcriptomics.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and curious person who is passionate about furthering knowledge through scientific research. You must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and have a positive attitude towards problem-solving. Prioritisation will be made for candidates with practical experience of studying stem cells in an in vivo setting and implementing clinically-relevant radiation protocols in research models. Additional merit will be applied for those with expertise in skeletal tissues, particularly growth plate cartilage.

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor, a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. Completion of your doctoral degree within the last three years is considered an advantage. If there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
