Instructional Designer

Kimley-Horn is looking for an Instructional Designer to join our Raleigh, North Carolina office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, designing, and developing learning materials for face-to-face, e-learning, and blended learning environments based on your knowledge of best practices and adult learning theory. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical, analytical, and project management skills to partner with internal and external clients to develop engaging and relevant content.

  • Develop various training deliverables, such as PowerPoint presentations, learning activities, assignments, assessments, eLearning courses, instructional videos, one-page job aids, etc.
  • Create instructor lesson plans, rubrics, and other teaching tools.
  • Able to observe/analyze training programs and processes for outcomes and feedback.
  • Edit and proofread materials for grammar, format, style, accuracy, and consistency per established quality control checklists and brand guidelines.
  • Create graphics and other visuals for training materials
  • Work in partnership and foster collaboration with other members within the firm to complete, maintain, and enhance training projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of relevant post-graduate experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic to intermediate skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and various content authoring tools (including leveraging the use of sound AI prompts) used by the Instructional Design Team
  • Effectively balance time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative environment
  • Domestic travel up to 5%
