You will take levels from concept to fully playable prototypes, by working closely with Narrative, Technical Design, Game Design and Art teams. You will design, implement, and refine game quests that align with the game's overall vision and gameplay mechanics. Your creative and technical skills will be instrumental in shaping the player's experience and ensuring a high-quality gaming experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Level Design: Create and design compelling game levels, including layout, architecture, terrain, puzzles, challenges, and enemy encounters. Collaborate with the game design team to ensure the levels align with the game's narrative, mechanics, and overall vision.
  • Quest Design: Collaborate with the narrative team to develop compelling quests around diverse storylines, characters and world lore. Be able to plan detailed assets and features required for the creation of the quests and integrate the delivered assets (gameplay ingredients, locations, characters, dialogues, etc.), creating an engaging experience for players.
  • Gameplay Implementation: Implement level designs using relevant game development tools and scripting languages. • Quality Assurance: Test and debug levels to ensure they meet design and technical requirements. Identify and resolve gameplay issues, including pacing, balance, and usability, to deliver a polished and enjoyable player experience.
  • Industry Research: Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in level design and game development. Analyze and evaluate competitor games to gain insights and inspiration for improving your own level designs.

Knowledge/skills include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in AAA gaming.
  • Having gone through most major phases of development (concept, pre-prod, production, debugging, support, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field, would be a plus.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your level design skills, demonstrating creativity, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of gameplay mechanics.

  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, SketchUp) and level design tools (e.g., Hammer, Radiant) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of various game genres, mechanics, and level design principles.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing project requirements.
