The Product Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise and support for the company’s HVAC and electrical product lines. This role acts as the primary internal resource for product knowledge, technical inquiries, and customer solutions, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and supporting business growth across Canada.

Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main technical contact for all HVAC and electrical product-related questions from customers, sales teams, and agents.
  • Develop product equivalency charts and recommend suitable alternatives for client needs.
  • Liaise with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier partners to obtain technical information and resolve complex product issues.
  • Collaborate with customer service to ensure accurate order processing and optimal client support.
  • Train and assist customers, representatives, and agents on product features, applications, and best practices.
  • Support both HVAC and electrical product lines; willingness to learn and cross-train as needed.
  • Work with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to enhance product performance and market positioning.
  • Stay informed about market trends, technological innovations, and competitive products.
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing materials, product documentation, and technical literature.
  • Utilize Excel, ERP, and reporting tools for technical analysis and margin calculations.

Experience and qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' experience in inside sales, counter sales, or technical support within HVAC or electrical distribution (experience in both fields preferred but not required).
  • Bilingual (English/French) required.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with Excel, ERP, and business reporting systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales, customer service, and technical teams.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires at least 5 years related experience.
