Product Owner

We're seeking a Product Owner to own Pricing Delivery. In this role you will represent the voice of the business and work closely with technology and leadership to prioritize and deliver capabilities that drive profitable growth.

What You Will Do

  • Own product strategy for Risk Pricing and translate organizational strategy into a clear, prioritized roadmap.
  • Serve as the voice of the business — gather and synthesize stakeholder insights to define problems, outcomes, and success metrics.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog; write and accept clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Define, track, and be accountable for assigned product KPIs; work with squads to meet those goals.
  • Collaborate daily with engineering teams, architects, and others to remove blockers, clarify requirements, and align delivery with business outcomes.
  • Lead quarterly and sprint planning with squads and stakeholders; set expectations for delivery timelines and scope.
  • Coordinate across portfolios to identify existing capabilities, promote reuse, and surface capability gaps to avoid duplication.
  • Work with architects and technology leads to understand system implications and dependencies across multiple portfolios.
  • Assess feasibility, cost-of-delay, and business impact for proposed changes; influence prioritization decisions accordingly.
  • Monitor product health and long-term viability, balancing short-term delivery with sustainability and cost considerations.
  • Ensure product work accounts for regulatory, compliance, and industry constraints and negotiate priorities to maintain alignment.
  • Contribute to user research, customer-driven design, and usability testing; perform market and industry analysis to position the product competitively.
  • Participate in demos, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies; foster a continuous improvement mindset.

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with strong understanding of insurance products including pricing.
  • Proven ability to work with leadership and technical teams to define and prioritize strategy and delivery.
  • Experience writing requirements and/or user stories and managing prioritized product backlogs.
  • Demonstrated success in driving measurable product KPIs and translating customer insights into product outcomes.
  • Familiarity with Agile ceremonies and practices; comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative environments.
  • Technical fluency to partner effectively with architects and engineers (systems thinking, dependencies, integration points).
  • Experience navigating regulatory or compliance constraints relevant to product delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with roadmap and requirement documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Wiki, Jama).

Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.) and a minimum of 2 to 4 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 5 years in business, technology or consulting.

Able to depict complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on business vision and plan and the impact of change.

Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily.

Problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solutions and progress.

Experience in the insurance industry preferred.

Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred.

Experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty.
