The Product Compliance Technician is tasked with defining and testing parameters for our products, ensuring they meet industry compliance standards, and evaluating production procedures. This role involves enforcing quality standards within our customer base as outlined in the MSSC manual, with a strong focus on development, continuous improvement, and quality performance. Additionally, the Product Compliance Technician is responsible for performing all necessary laboratory operations and testing.

This position is responsible for ensuring product quality through comprehensive auditing, documentation, and analysis. Key duties include maintaining accurate records, conducting internal audits of seats and components, supporting root cause analysis, and developing quality control KPIs and reports for management. The role involves training employees on quality standards (including BMW Boundary Book – GMK), ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and participating in lab testing such as Efforts, Gap, Scan, and BSR. Additional responsibilities include documenting defects, addressing employee concerns, collaborating with external auditors, supporting new product launches, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives. Timely communication of defects and non-conformances, cooperation with supervisors and area leaders, and support for night shift lab work are also essential aspects of this role.

Use, provide, and enforce the use of company-issued PPE. Follow all emergency procedures. Must participate in all company-related safety programs. Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed. Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention concerning hazards, defects, or non-compliance issues.

Attend all monthly employee meetings. Attend all scheduled training sessions and complete related course materials. Provide feedback to employees (both positive and negative) on an ongoing basis. Communicate at all levels of the organization regarding quality.

Be respectful and courteous to my co-workers, supervisors, and managers.

Ensures the operation meets 5S expectations. Participate in internal audits (SOX, TS, ISO). Champion continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts for the department. Consult with other departments to identify, analyze, and resolve problems. Introduce or recommend changes to work methods, aligned with Mafact and MPS methodology.

Computer literate, with proficiency in industry-specific software (CAD software, PowerPoint, Excel). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly schematics, and heat maps. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Exceptional attention to detail. Advanced organizational skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills with customers and peers, maintaining productive and professional relationships. Ability to work any shift schedule according to business needs. Willingness to work overtime and travel with little notice. Ability to initiate and implement continuous improvement processes. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, coordinate, and integrate internal data, articulating concepts, ideas, and other quality engineering-related issues. Must be able to work independently.

University degree or college diploma in a related field, or successful completion of career-related courses. At least five years' experience as a quality auditor or in a related industry, preferably in manufacturing or automotive sectors. Skilled in performing data analysis from lab testing, including material and durability tests. Familiarity with advanced lab equipment and automation technologies. Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for precise and standardized communication of engineering tolerances. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Quality Management Systems (QMS). Demonstrated ability to research and recommend new products and processes. Experience with lean manufacturing and quality improvement methodologies. Able to perform data analysis from lab testing. In-depth knowledge of industry standards.

Organization and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal personnel, customers, and suppliers. Quality system knowledge. Teamwork to assist with customer concern items.
