ADAS/IVI Systems Product Manager

Job Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy & Roadmap Leadership (Business-Focused)

  • Define the long-term vision and integrated product roadmap for ADAS and IVI systems.
  • Develop strategic frameworks for platform scalability, reusability, and future revenue opportunities.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and market analysis to identify emerging trends in automated driving, digital cockpit, cloud integration, and UX expectations.
  • Own the business case development including cost modeling, investment planning, ROI analysis, and partner/technology selection.
  • Work with executive leadership to align product direction with corporate objectives, customer needs, regulatory changes, and technology evolution.

2. Architecture & System Definition

  • Oversee end-to-end system architecture for both ADAS and IVI domains, ensuring technical coherence across compute, sensors, ECUs, middleware, and cloud components.
  • Define architectural guidelines for perception stack integration, sensor fusion, infotainment apps/frameworks, multi-display experiences, vehicle connectivity, and OTA update management.
  • Drive cross-domain interface definitions (e.g., ADAS warnings on cluster/HUD, navigation-ADAS integration, driver monitoring integration).
  • Approve technical design reviews, engineering change requests, and platform evolution plans.

3. Organization Building, Hiring & Leadership Development

  • Build and scale a high-performing product development organization covering ADAS, IVI, systems engineering, test/validation, and program management.
  • Define team structure, roles, competencies, and operating mechanisms as the organization grows.
  • Lead hiring strategy, candidate evaluation, and recruitment for specialized experts (e.g. perception engineers, Android Automotive developers, HMI designers, cloud integration engineers).
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development pathways for program leaders.

4. Supplier, Partner & Ecosystem Management

  • Own relationships with key technology partners (e.g., Mobileye, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Google, AWS, Tier-1 suppliers).
  • Lead supplier selection, RFI/RFQ processes, SOW creation, contract negotiation, and performance oversight.
  • Drive co-development strategies for next-generation ADAS sensors, SoCs, cloud telematics, and infotainment platforms.

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Communication

  • Present product strategy, program status, technology recommendations, and organizational needs to executive leadership.
  • Manage cross-functional alignment with purchasing, legal, manufacturing, cybersecurity, quality, and vehicle program teams.
  • Act as the primary decision-maker for prioritization tradeoffs between performance, cost, timing, and customer experience.
  • Represent the company in external engagements, industry forums, and partner reviews.

Required Qualifications

Technical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 10–15+ years in automotive product development with deep experience in both ADAS and IVI systems.
  • Expertise in:
    • Perception systems (camera, radar, lidar)
    • Embedded software development (C++, Python, Java/Kotlin)
    • Infotainment platforms (Android Automotive, QNX, Linux)
    • Vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)
    • Functional safety and cybersecurity standards
    • Cloud connectivity, OTA, and telemetry systems

Business & Leadership Qualifications

  • Proven track record in building and delivering complex, cross-domain automotive products.
  • Ability to define scalable product strategies and multi-year roadmaps.
  • Experience managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and leading enterprise-level programs.
  • Strong stakeholder influence skills with senior executives, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in software-defined vehicle architectures.
  • Background in AI/ML applied to driver assistance or user personalization.
  • Prior involvement in global vehicle launches.
  • Familiarity with digital twin, simulation, and virtual validation environments.
