Manpower Engineering is seeking Technical Training Authors / Instructional Designers to support a major global automotive manufacturer. This hybrid role is based in Auburn Hills, MI, and candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the area.

About the Role

  • Hybrid schedule: Typically, 1 day/week onsite. Certain projects may require consecutive days or weeks onsite at the training center.
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Type: Long-term, ongoing contract with potential future perm consideration

What You'll Do

  • Develop automotive technical training curriculum: instructor-led, eLearning, microlearning, job aids, and quick reference guides
  • Create storyboards, scripts, and multimedia-ready content
  • Design engaging course components using graphics, audio, and video
  • Convert complex technical material into clear, compelling learning experiences
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and apply improvements
  • Stay current with evolving industry trends, learning tech, and best practices

What You Need to Bring

  • Portfolio samples (eLearning demo, storyboard, ILT materials, etc.)
  • 2-year associate degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Automotive Technology, or a related field
  • Understanding of automotive components and systems
  • Experience with Articulate 360 and Adobe Creative Suite (preferred)
  • Ability to write instructional text, scripts, and multimedia-ready content
  • Ability to work within an LMS (Cornerstone experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to travel periodically (approx. 2–3 weeks/year, some will not travel at all)
