Systems Designer

We are seeking a Systems Designer who will oversee the design, implementation, and management of research data for an assigned study. The Systems Designer is responsible for leading systems design research and co-design facilitation to support health policy systems change initiatives, focusing on policy analysis, multi-stakeholder engagement, and co-creation for advancing Neighborhood Nursing. This role will also work on the development of scalability frameworks for nurse-led programs to achieve health systems transformations.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Design, implement and manage computerized systems for analysis of complex research data. Responsible for database creation and management including data checking and cleaning, creation and maintenance of data dictionaries for datasets, merging data, creating and recoding variables to prepare data for analyses. Assure quality control of the research data and proper design and implementation of databases. Write computer codes in a procedural-oriented computer language to collect data and accomplish the statistical analysis; select the appropriate computing environment (PC, minicomputer, or mainframe). Analyze a variety of large and complex data sets using a variety of standard statistical techniques including regression, longitudinal data analysis and nonparametric analyses. Present and summarize analyses in various formats including raw output, tables, and graphics, oral and written reports. Collaborate with manager and faculty investigators to plan and implement analyses. Utilize standard and non-standard biostatistical and database methods for the production of statistical analyses. Maintain appropriate systems for database associated management. Keep abreast of technical and academic resources related to the methodology of statistical analyses. Make suggestions or provide solutions to problems related to data management and statistical analysis. Participate in writing statistical plans for grants. Contribute to scientific manuscripts and presentations related to study results. Create and maintain databases for archiving analytic results and other research information.

Supplemental Position Details

The role requires interviewing leaders and facilitating structured co-design activities, policy simulations, and tabletop convenings that bring together stakeholders to identify and codify nurse-led programs that have reached health systems transformations as well as policy gaps, opportunities, and collaborative solutions that can help advance Neighborhood Nursing. The role involves creating system archetypes and generic models that abstract program and policy-specific information into reusable frameworks for future health systems interventions. The position is responsible for developing and applying design frameworks to map, visualize, and analyze nurse-led programs and health policy systems. The position contributes to an integrated, multi-media communication system including podcasts, videos, website content, curriculum development, conceptual models, toolkits, academic articles, and case studies. The role operates with significant independence in conducting research, facilitating workshops, and developing frameworks, with work reviewed through scholarly productivity measures and participation in interdisciplinary leadership teams.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. Five years related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Design or related field. Experience with health systems research or health policy analysis. Background in participatory design methods and co-design approaches.
