As our first Senior Product Designer, you'll define and own the look, feel, and flow of the Mercor platform, helping us scale a product that is both beautifully simple and increasingly powerful.

You'll sit at the intersection of product design, graphic design, and front-end execution. From crafting high-fidelity designs to driving UX strategy across complex workflows, you'll be responsible for shaping how users — from top-tier talent to internal operators — experience Mercor.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of platform-wide UX design strategy, partner closely with engineering and leadership, and establish the foundation for how design lives at one of the fastest-growing companies in the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design of core user journeys across the product, from initial flows to polished UI
• Collaborate with engineering and product to implement new features and refine existing ones
• Drive design decisions through a balance of taste, data, and user empathy
• Bring clarity to complex user experiences as our product evolves and scales
• Create and maintain a clean, modern visual language inspired by tools like Notion and powered by elements like Tailwind
• Work closely with the founders to articulate and evolve Mercor's design philosophy
• Help tutorialize the product experience — ensuring that users know what to do without needing to be told
• Be a self-directed builder: you'll define this role, this function, and the design culture at Mercor from the ground up

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years in product or UX design, ideally at fast-moving startups or high-bar product teams
• Strong portfolio that demonstrates both visual polish and UX depth
• Experience working closely with engineers and understanding implementation constraints
• Comfort jumping into product discussions, prioritization, and pushing features across the finish line
• Proven ability to operate autonomously and define design processes in ambiguous environments
• Passion for building products that are intuitive, beautiful, and a joy to use
• Excitement to work directly with founders and influence company-wide product direction
• Bonus: Experience building internal tools, marketplaces, or AI-driven products
