Imagine being part of a high-stakes mission to get thousands of people back into their Facebook and Instagram accounts every day, all while keeping adversaries out. Welcome to the Account Access Recovery Organization, where our team has grown significantly over the past year. Our goal is to make the highly public, company-critical issue of recovering access to your account a problem of the past. Every day people lose access to their accounts when bad actors hack into them, or when their account is mistakenly blocked for violating Meta's rules (when they didn't). Your challenge: make account access as easy as possible while combatting bad actors who try to exploit these access flows to hack into accounts putting private data at risk, and harming others through scams and phishing. As PM lead for Recovery (across 3 teams in this space), you'll play a critical role in identifying the true owner of an account and making recovery seamless while protecting people from adversaries. Today, we drive this through speaking directly with users and through a range of self-service user flows. We need your help to develop a strategy for helping users find the optimum pathway to maximize access and minimize adversarial exploitation. Your strategy will be grounded in case studies, user research and your own product intuition.
Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. When Facebook launched in 2004, it changed the way people connect. Apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp further empowered billions around the world. Now, Meta is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented and virtual reality to help build the next evolution in social technology. People who choose to build their careers by building with us at Meta help shape a future that will take us beyond what digital connection makes possible today—beyond the constraints of screens, the limits of distance, and even the rules of physics.
