Job Description

Strategic Leadership: Lead the entire pre-construction lifecycle from initial lead/RFP through to GMP and project hand-off, ensuring seamless transition to operations.

Conceptual Estimating: Develop accurate, high-level conceptual estimates and cost models with limited design information (napkin-sketch budgeting).

Client Advisory: Act as the trusted advisor to owners and architects, providing value engineering (VE) and constructability reviews that save money without sacrificing quality.

Bid Management: Orchestrate the solicitation of subcontractors, leveraging deep local market relationships to secure the best coverage and pricing.

Presentation: Lead interviews and presentations for prospective projects; you are the technical face of the company during the pursuit phase.

Market Analytics: Track Wisconsin material and labor cost trends to provide real-time data to clients, mitigating escalation risks.

The Successful Applicant

Experience: 7-12+ years in commercial construction, with at least 3-5 years dedicated specifically to pre-construction or senior estimating.

Technical Savvy: Mastery of estimating software (WinEst, Timberline, Destini, or similar) and ability to read complex blueprints and specs.

Soft Skills: You are a "seller-doer." You can crunch the numbers, but you can also look a CEO in the eye and sell confidence and trust.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture (or equivalent high-level field experience).
