Substation Designer (T&D)

We're working with a fast-growing power engineering firm supporting major utilities and renewable developers across the Pacific Northwest. This team specializes in high-voltage substation design (12kV-500kV) and is known for delivering clean, accurate design packages on complex grid infrastructure projects. With a strong backlog of substation upgrades, greenfield builds, and renewable interconnections, they're expanding their design team.

Develop detailed substation design drawings (12kV-500kV) including general arrangement plans, plan & elevation views, section views and equipment layouts. Create and modify one-lines and three-lines, wiring diagrams and schematics, conduit and cable routing drawings. Support both AIS and GIS substation designs. Incorporate engineer markups and redlines into final deliverables. Coordinate with substation engineers, protection & control teams, civil/structural designers. Ensure all drawings meet utility standards and QA/QC requirements. Assist with as-builts and drawing revisions during construction.

A successful Substation Designer (T&D) should have 3-8+ years of substation design/drafting experience (T&D). Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Experience working on high-voltage substations (69kV+). Ability to read and interpret one-lines, schematics, engineering design packages. Familiarity with utility standards and design practices. Detail-oriented with strong QA/QC mindset.
