Social Media Specialist

At TelCom Construction, we are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Specialist to manage and grow our company's presence across key social media platforms. This role will be responsible for maintaining and publishing content on platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, while actively engaging with industry professionals, contractors, and partners.

The Social Media Specialist will support the company's business development initiatives by helping identify and interact with potential contractor partners, promote company projects and culture, and strengthen our presence within the telecommunications construction industry online. This position is responsible for several administrative and accountability-related tasks as they relate to the contract and subcontractor management functions within the organization. Timely communication with internal stakeholders regarding potential contract partners identified through social media connections.

What you'll do

  • Manage day-to-day activity across company social media accounts including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Plan, create, schedule, and publish engaging content that highlights company projects, employees, safety culture, and industry involvement.
  • Maintain consistent brand voice and messaging across all social media platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions.
  • Respond to comments, inquiries, and messages in a professional and timely manner.
  • Identify and engage with potential contractors, subcontractors, and industry partners.
  • Support business development efforts by helping establish connections with potential partners and promoting company opportunities.
  • Participate in relevant industry conversations and groups online.
  • Receive, process, update, and maintain subcontractor-related data and compliance documentation within internal tracking systems.
  • Assist in developing and updating internal processes and tracking procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Content Development

  • Develop social media content including
  • Project highlights
  • Company updates
  • Recruiting content
  • Industry insights
  • Event announcements
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather photos, project information, and updates.
  • Maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent posting.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track and report on social media performance metrics including engagement, reach, and follower growth.
  • Provide recommendations to improve visibility and engagement.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity.

What you'll need

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, communications, subcontractor/vendor management, or related administrative fields.
  • Strong written communication and professional messaging skills with the ability to interact effectively with company leadership, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram business account.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, posts, and responses daily.
  • Proficient use of computer hardware, database and internet software is required.
  • Proficient PDF editing and data entry skills as well as working knowledge of Google suite of applications is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting B2B marketing or business development initiatives.
  • Experience with social media scheduling or analytics tools
  • Basic graphic design experience (Canva, Adobe, etc.)
  • Proficient PDF editing and data entry skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, and cloud-based software.

The wage range for Social Media Specialist is $55,000.00 - $70,000.00.
