Assembly Mechanic

The Assembly Mechanic assembles mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic parts for paving and construction equipment in a clean, modern shop. This role involves reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and building high-quality equipment from start to finish while working closely with a teammate.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components using blueprints and schematics
• Build custom equipment, frames, axles, and install motors, A/C systems, hoses, fittings, and wiring
• Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and calibrated torque tools
• Apply correct torque and follow proper assembly patterns
• Inspect finished equipment to ensure quality and safety standards
• Identify and report parts issues, B.O.M. discrepancies, and safety concerns
• Work with engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to resolve issues
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Work in a team-based cell environment and meet production schedules

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical or heavy equipment assembly (automotive, diesel, aviation, military preferred)
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, torque applications, and metric measurements
• Hands-on experience with torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, and power tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive or technical degree (recent graduates welcome)
• Trade school or technical training
• Experience in manufacturing, construction equipment, or mechanical shop environments

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MINNEAPOLIS, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
