CAD Designer (Hybrid in Minneapolis)

Our client in the consumer products industry is looking for a CAD Designer. This is a contract role for 40 hours/week beginning as soon as possible and is expected to last 3-6 months, covering a leave of absence. Candidates must be local to the Minneapolis area and available to work hybrid onsite 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and one flexible day). Requirements: - Recent experience in a drafting or CAD modeling role, with a strong focus on SolidWorks - Proficiency in SolidWorks, including SolidWorks PDM Responsibilities: - Track and manage requests for new and revised models and drawings through a ticketing system - Review change and new product design requests; delegate tasks to engineers or handle directly - Provide CAD support for new product development, prototyping, and standard product updates - Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies - Support rendering, 3D printing, and other prototyping efforts - Collaborate with a cross-functional team including CAD Designers and Mechanical Design Engineers - Report to the Senior Manager of Mechanical Design and Engineering NOT REQUIRED but nice to haves: - Experience with CREO and Windchill. - Familiarity with design for plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing. - Experience performing mechanical engineering calculations. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
