Design Drafter
This position relies on experience and judgment to assist with the initial and ongoing engineering design of new and modified products utilizing computer aided drafting techniques. Work assignments are varied and of the highest level of scope and complexity.
• Create solid models for initial design of new and existing products.
• Put together complex assembly models with multiple configurations.
• Creating, documenting and generating required drawings for new and existing products, including dimensional drawings, exploded isometric drawings and design configuration (DC) drawings.
• Confer with product engineering, production, and sales to establish and evaluate design concepts for manufactured products.
• Use knowledge and experience to provide feedback to improve current/future designs for both quality and cost effectiveness.
• Participate in the new product development process and meet anticipated project deadlines.
• Demonstrate thoroughness by reviewing your own drawings/models that will meet the design intent and any customer specifications.
• File and maintain all drawings properly and accurately in a product data management system.
• Create and maintain records in ERP system and engineering database.
• Write Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to correct identified problems.
• Attend weekly meetings with supervisor to provide project updates.
• Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting errors when they arise and offer solutions to the team.
• Properly manage time to meet the customer's needs of other internal and external stakeholders.
