Mechanical Drafter / Designer
This role focuses on layout drafting and mechanical design for a major filtration system project in a new facility. You will create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings, working closely with engineering and project teams to ensure accurate, high-quality mechanical and structural designs. The position is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys design work and has a strong experience in SolidWorks and mechanical drafting, with clear opportunities for growth on a technically interesting, large-scale project.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed mechanical layout drawings for filtration systems using Revit and other CAD tools.
- Create and update 3D models to support mechanical design and system integration.
- Develop accurate fabrication drawings, including dimensions, materials, and assembly details.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to create precise drafting documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to refine mechanical and structural designs and resolve design issues.
- Ensure all drawings and models comply with project standards, design guidelines, and applicable codes.
- Revise and maintain drawing sets throughout the project lifecycle based on feedback and design changes.
- Support coordination between design, fabrication, and installation teams by providing clear and complete drafting packages.
- Participate in project meetings as needed to review design progress and address drafting-related questions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting practices, templates, and standards within the team.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using Revit for layout drafting and design.
- Proficiency in mechanical drafting and mechanical design principles.
- Hands-on experience with 3D modeling for mechanical components and systems.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Ability to create detailed fabrication drawings, including mechanical and structural elements.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all drafting and design work.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative on tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field.
- Willingness to consider entry-level candidates who demonstrate strong drafting and design aptitude.
- Experience working with CAD tools for mechanical and structural design.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional project teams.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple drawing revisions and project deadlines.

Work Environment
The role is primarily based in a cubicle office setting, using Revit, SolidWorks, and other CAD tools on a daily basis to produce mechanical and structural designs. You will spend most of your time working at a computer, with occasional time on the facility floor to review installations, gather design information, or coordinate with other teams. The environment supports professional growth through involvement in a high-impact, technically challenging project, with regular collaboration among engineers, designers, and project staff.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
