Electrical Designer
Location: Becker, Minnesota
Type: 12 month Contract
Compensation: $37.00 - $41.00 per hour
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing electrical schematics and wiring diagrams related to turbine generator conversion projects
- Redraw existing schematics from image files into vector formats using AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Create new schematics to support control system updates, ensuring compatibility with DCS
- Assist in the design and implementation of electrical connections and controls for the turbine generator conversion
- Work collaboratively with external consultants such as Burns and McDonald, and vendors like Siemens or ABB
- Ensure all electrical drawings and schematics are accurate, functional, and meet project specifications
- 5-7 years of engineering or electrical experience preferred, with flexibility for less experience if strong electrical schematic skills are demonstrated
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation software for schematic drafting and design
- Strong understanding of electrical concepts, wiring, and connection diagrams
- Experience with motor control systems beneficial
- Background in industrial settings, especially with companies like 3M, GE, or utilities
- Ability to draft and design electrical schematics and convert image files into vector format
- Familiarity with PLC, TCS, or DCS control systems; experience with DCS preferred
