A Day in the Life

The MECC R&D Component Development Program Manager is responsible for achieving successful execution of product development initiatives in support of MECC's customers and the CRM R&D strategy. The Program Manager serves as a cross-functional team lead with responsibility for defining, developing and delivering new production capabilities for our customers. The Program Manager is accountable to the CRM Energy Solutions Project Review Committee (PRC) for overall program execution, with the responsibility for ensuring team commitments (scope, schedule and budget per project contract) are met and communicated in a timely manner.

As a member of the PMO the program manager enables the site strategy through the identification, estimation, and securing of project funding in support of the CRM Mission, and continuously improves the business processes used by the PMO and the functional organizations they interact with to achieve efficient project execution to deliver the products with world class quality and reliability.

The Product Development Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing research and development initiatives related to medical device components within the product development process. These programs encompass all stages of the product lifecycle, including new product development, product change management, and CAPA activities. The role requires collaboration across multiple functions—design, manufacturing operations, advanced manufacturing engineering, reliability, quality, and regulatory—to acquire comprehensive knowledge and utilize it to create integrated project schedules. The Program Manager is expected to execute projects within defined timelines and budgets while ensuring all deliverables are met. Candidates must possess strong presentation skills to engage upper-level management and demonstrate effective leadership, fostering high-performance teams through influence.

This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Product Development Program Managers have three responsibilities within the PMO:

  • Drive Program Execution
  • Continuous Improvement of the R&D Project Execution Capabilities
  • Enable CRM Energy Components Strategy

Nice to have:

  • PMP certification
  • Successful process development experience with implanted medical devices and components
  • Master's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or material engineering/science

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate degree AND minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, OR advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$138,400.00 - $207,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
