Datavant Product Manager

Datavant is the data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare. Guided by our mission to make the world's health data secure, accessible and actionable, we provide critical data solutions for organizations across the healthcare ecosystem - including providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies. From fulfilling a single patient's request for their medical records to powering the AI revolution in healthcare, Datavanters are building the future of how data is connected and used to improve health.

By joining Datavant today, you're stepping onto a driven and highly collaborative team that is passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare.

What We're Looking For

The Connections Product team at Datavant is responsible for building and evolving Datavant's interoperability platform. This team sits at the center of how Datavant connects healthcare information sources to enable more scalable exchange of health data across the ecosystem.

We are focused on growing the network and advancing the capabilities that expand integration value, support new use cases, and strengthen how health data is exchanged across the platform. We partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Partnerships, and other Product teams to shape how Datavant's interoperability platform evolves over time.

What You Will Do

You will join the Product team within the Connections product zone and help shape the strategy, roadmap, and execution of Datavant's interoperability platform. The Connections team's mission is to advance the network and capabilities that power health data exchange across Datavant, enabling more scalable, reliable, and valuable interoperability across healthcare information sources, partners, and workflows. Product managers in this area work closely with Engineering, Operations, Partnerships, and Product leaders across the company to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, and deliver capabilities that expand the value of the platform and drive measurable business impact.

  • Drive product strategy and impact: Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Partnerships, and Product teams across the organization to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, and deliver capabilities that expand the value of Connections across Datavant.

  • Be customer-focused: Obsess about identifying and solving high-value problems for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the Connections roadmap reflects real market needs, operational realities, and measurable business outcomes.

  • Define product requirements: Work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to translate complex business needs, interoperability constraints, and technical possibilities into clear, concise, and motivating requirements. Foster a deep understanding of workflows, source systems, exchange patterns, and user needs to guide iterative development.

  • Navigate a dynamic interoperability landscape: Help shape product direction in a space defined by evolving customer expectations, partner ecosystems, technical standards, and regulatory requirements. Balance long-term platform strategy with near-term execution to ensure Datavant continues to deliver durable, market-relevant capabilities.

  • Be a leader: Lead by example, fostering a collaborative environment across Product, Engineering, Operations, and commercial teams.

  • Operate like an owner: Take ownership of your product area from ideation through development, launch, measurement, and iteration. Embrace a "no job is too small" attitude to ensure the success of your products, your team, and Datavant.

What You Need To Succeed

  • You have 5+ years in product management, product strategy, or a related role, ideally within healthcare technology, interoperability, platform products, or complex enterprise software.

  • You understand healthcare interoperability. You have experience working with APIs, EHR integrations, healthcare data exchange, or adjacent workflows where security, compliance, and operational complexity play a major role in how products get designed.

  • You are familiar with common interoperability standards and integration patterns, such as FHIR, HL7, EHR APIs, or similar approaches to exchanging healthcare data across complex systems.

  • You are strategic. You can assess opportunities, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and help determine where Datavant should invest to create the most value through its interoperability platform.

  • You are technical. When needed, you aren't afraid to dive into workflows, APIs, system behavior, data models, or technical constraints to better understand what is going on. While you may not be writing production code, you are comfortable partnering deeply with engineers and reasoning through how systems should work and scale.

  • You know how to build platform products. You've been part of teams that have evolved shared capabilities, not just one-off solutions, and you understand how to create leverage through product and platform thinking.

  • You are highly organized and have strong project management skills: others are confident in a project's outcome when they know you're owning it.

  • You write exceptional documents, presentations, diagrams, and mockups. Your documentation leads to discussions about the content, not about what is intended.

  • You are a great communicator and have the confidence to lead planning meetings with anyone or any group within the company. You have the ability to explain strategies, rationales and products in terms that each audience can understand.

  • You are motivated by getting stuff done. You are wired to both set the big vision and to make continual steps towards that vision. Neither vision setting nor execution is satisfactory by itself to you - you want both.

  • You are a team player. You always put yourself in others' positions and understand their motivations, needs, perspectives and potential points of confusion.

  • You are proactive. You define how the product should evolve and bias to action.
