Sr Director - Technology Product Management

The Sr Director Technology Product Management will sit within the Advisor Technology Solutions Product team focusing on technical capabilities to improve advisor business planning, digital field learning, practice collaboration tools, and AI driven components that improve practice efficiency. Additionally, they will have responsibility for the ongoing awareness and adoption communication processes across the entire suite of ATS supported tools. This individual will work collaboratively with business process owners and technology leaders to develop and roll out new tools while providing ongoing product evolution of existing tools. They will manage a team of product management resources focused on SDLC delivery, stakeholder alignment, and engaging closely with end users. The role will be responsible for working collaboratively across the firm, particularly in close partnership with practice enablement teams, General Counsel's Office, field and corporate learning teams, and other product teams to create and operate a seamless, integrated platform experience.

Key responsibilities include product management of learning and development tools including the Ameriprise LXP and embedded self-help tools. Product management for business planning/practice goal setting and management capabilities. Drive solutioning for rapidly evolving AI based collaboration capabilities such as Microsoft Co Pilot and M365. Manage vendor relationship and continued development and deepening of file management systems such as Box.com. Oversight and ongoing development of field awareness, change management, and communication capabilities. Support advisor recruitment and business development processes. Provide strategic leadership in defining and designing the end-to-end user platforms and supporting technology solution models for the business. Drive consistency and optimization of business processes and technology solutions across capabilities. Provide recommendations to preserve integrity across the various strands of change and ensure the delivery of holistic, integrated solutions. Partner with the business and end user research to lead discovery work for new capabilities or experiences that deliver new or differentiating business value. Work with the business to understand and define business processes that meet goals and objectives and maximize the value proposition of the technology solution. Analyze the existing capabilities to determine whether opportunities exist to create competitive advantages, cost efficiencies and/or revenue growth. Perform current state assessment to identify people, process, technology, and information gaps to develop product road maps and help create the supporting cost-benefit analysis (CBA). Manage the domain requirements and delivery processes, ensuring alignment with Ameriprise business and technology strategies and enterprise business architecture strategy. Provide solution design expertise and support for technology projects. Build and develop an effective organization with appropriate skills, organization structure, and direction to satisfy current and future business needs. This includes recruitment, performance management, salary administration, career planning and budget management. Lead and oversee a team of product management professionals that are accountable for delivering business architecture services at Ameriprise. Facilitate the professional growth and development of the product management team.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business or related field; or equivalent work experience. 10+ years related technology experience - including product management, systems analysis and system design experience. People leadership of mid-sized teams, enabling employees to work in a fast paced environment focused on agility. Experience driving business requirements through process mapping, modeling and information flows. Proven ability to effectively manage change in a large corporate environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of an organization. Demonstrated success working in a highly collaborative environment with a strong ability to lead and influence. Negotiates well for mutually beneficial outcomes.

Preferred qualifications include experience working in and general understanding of the Enterprise Learning Systems, Sales Enablement, and managing geographically diverse teams. Skilled at perceiving patterns and relationships between technologies, processes, business models and people. Ability to act as a liaison conveying the strategic needs of the Business to Technology and the strategic plan of Technology to the Business. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base pay salary: The estimated base salary for this role is $150,000 - $210,000/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
