Alternative Investment Product Development

The employee will work on the Product Origination and Development team within the Alternative Investment product area of Investment Solutions, focusing on product development work. The employee will primarily be responsible for onboarding alternative investment offerings across the Institutional Client Channel within the alternatives platform. In these capacities, the employee will work closely with alternative investment Fund Managers, MSWM Advisors, MSWM Field Management, as well as various other business groups within Morgan Stanley. In addition, the candidate will work on analytical projects for the Alternative Investments organization. This position will work cross-functionally with other areas of Investment Solutions as well as other groups across MSWM (including Sales and Marketing, Global Investment Manager Analysis, Legal, Operations, Finance, etc.) The employee will work on tactical deal-related deliverables, as well as other long-term strategic initiatives. Projects will include assisting with the development and support of investment product launches, including execution of placement agreements, customization of offering & marketing materials, presenting to various Product Committees, and socializing ideas at the alternatives weekly sales meeting. The employee will also be expected to continue to improve and develop relevant metrics and statistics that will help the management team understand the health of the business and identify new opportunities.

• 5 years of financial services industry experience

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; detail oriented

• Ability to manage and complete multiple and simultaneous projects with tight deadlines

• Ability to understand, implement, monitor and improve upon key financial and business metrics

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong presentation skills; ability to work effectively in senior management settings

• Must be a team player, with the ability to work independently

• Ability to represent the firm professionally with internal and external constituents

• Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint

• Series 7 preferred or willingness to obtain in 180 days

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
