Institutional Consulting Solutions (ICS) is part of the Client Segments division within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. The Institutional Consulting Solutions business drives the product management, sale and service of Advisor-led workplace offerings for corporate clients, non-profits, endowments, foundations and governments entities across market segments. Products include Retirement and Corporate Cash Management sold by both core Advisors as well as specialized channels such as Graystone Consulting or our Morgan Stanley Institutional Investment Advisors. Our products and services are designed to reduce financial stress and empower all companies and organizations and their constituents to plan, prepare for, and reach their financial goals through digital and human engagement.

Position Summary:

As a member of the Institutional Consulting Solutions (ICS) Retirement Product Operations team, you will play a critical role in overseeing the operational management and product and system improvements with regard to the Firm's corporate retirement product suite, ensuring that the products remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with client and market needs. The VP will partner with ICS Retirement leaders, ICS Platforms team as well as Legal, Risk and Compliance to effectively drive product or operating model transitions and system enhancements, while assessing and ensuring that appropriate controls are in place. The position will include project management. This role will include project management for various product, system or operational enhancement initiatives and related controls including but not limited to:

  • Maintenance of the DC corporate retirement product suite across market segments
  • Assessment of control effectiveness and driving necessary enhancements in partnership with Business Control Unit (BCU) risk teams
  • Project management of ICS initiatives as they relate to retirement products including product or service model transitions
  • Responding to feedback from the Field after review of suggestions and objective assessment of feasibility and need
  • Manage product exception review and approvals
  • Update of corporate retirement account documentation and regulatory letters and oversight of any relevant communications in partnership with the ICS communications team
  • Review and update of corporate retirement training materials as well as training modules for the Corporate Retirement product to ensure the training programs remain current with product updates and regulatory changes
  • Oversight of creation and maintenance of policy and procedures across the Corporate Retirement product suite
  • Partner with Legal, Risk and Compliance to design and implement operational control enhancements

Qualifications:

  • 8-12 years of relevant financial services industry, project management, retirement product management or related experience.
  • Candidate is driven to learn and grow, not afraid to ask questions and raise their hand, and shows general interest in internal growth.
  • Clear and confident communicator who can tailor messages/synthesize information according to the audience.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite in order to effectively communicate strategy updates via PowerPoint, and review relevant reporting on Excel as needed.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Strong project management, organization, planning skills, very detailed-oriented, able to balance competing priorities
  • Competent writer, comfortable creating detailed emails, reports or process documents for leadership review
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $190,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
