Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Overview

The Director of NBC Partner Marketing is responsible for aligning with Content Distribution Marketing (CDM) in the pursuit of curating and generating network promotion on our partner platforms, servicing their marketing and content needs, and collaborating with them to launch/sustain viewership of NBC programming via curated content, activations, and giveaways. You will collaborate with the Directors of NBC Affiliate Marketing to amplify local activations for greater business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Align with CDM and proactively identify opportunities on partner platforms to optimize and expand network campaigns to increase and retain NBC viewership; collaborate, design and execute plans for those opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue timely opportunities that tie NBC programming or consumer activations to partner priorities; collaborate closely with internal Brand Strategy, PR and Social teams to leverage synergies between partners and the network to maximize show awareness and tune-in while creating network value to our partners; provide recap analysis on partner tie-ins.
  • Identify positive/negative trends in the market to inform marketing strategy by program and identify growth opportunities and actionable insights; produce graphic representation of findings.
  • Act as primary contact for internal Entertainment Brand and PR teams to generate opportunities that garner press for network show talent and create interview opportunities for our partners and their content creator partners (e.g. press junkets, red carpet specials).
  • Manage and empower a two-person team responsible for proactively helping CDM and partners secure all needed marketing assets (short/long form content, custom talent liners, digital and social assets) and information to drive promotion of NBC primetime programming; interface with VP Affiliate & Partner Marketing on daily operations of the team and pro-actively fulfilling partner needs.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term fruitful relationships with business partners (i.e., CDM, NBC and Peacock Brand teams, Xfinity) via regular communication and timely follow up/trouble shooting their needs & requests.
  • Prep and participate in meetings, providing important network updates and helpful follow ups to CDM and key external partners; oversee specific functions of NBC Partner Marketing's participation in events and conferences; act as partner rep on internal NBC show team calls and team sync meetings; create PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheet presentations as needed
  • Maintain high-level knowledge of partner relationships and their priorities that align with network viewership goals.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience working at a broadcast or cable network or streamer
  • Minimum seven years' industry experience preferred with established record of success as a senior marketing professional
  • Understanding of MVPDs, dMVPDs, connected devices, the linear broadcast model and evolving/emerging streaming services
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Conversant with Social Media platforms

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
