Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

About the role As our Technical Product Manager, you'll join the Content Delivery Engineering team (CDE) within NBCUniversal's Global Video Engineering organization. Your mission is to get involved with delivering outstanding VOD, live event, and linear streaming experiences to millions of viewers across our US, UK, EU, and Africa services - including Peacock, SkyShowtime, Showmax, and NOW/WOW.

We are looking for you to define our product vision, strategy and roadmap with our multi-cultural engineering team, specializing in large-scale Multi-Content Delivery Network design and operations, performance telemetry and analytics, selection & interfacing with content origins via multiple workflows - dynamic ad insertion, manifest manipulation and integrating new player technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and prioritize product and internal customer requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and user stories.
  • Work closely with our engineering teams across the business to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
  • Act as our primary point of contact between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Analyze trends, competitors and gather feedback to form the path of our products.
  • Own our product lifecycle from ideation to launch and ongoing improvements.
  • Develop and track key performance metrics to measure product success.
  • Ensure appropriate product documentation is kept current with our Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or Technical Product Manager.
  • A flair for fitting Agile methods to diverse teams across timezones, striking the right balance between efficiency and flexibility.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to discuss design, infrastructure, APIs and integrations, in-depth.
  • Robust communication, organizational and leadership skills with an over-the-horizon view.
  • Ability to balance and mediate differing technical and business objectives.
  • Experience with Content Delivery Network (CDN) delivery of streamed video content is advantageous, full training can be provided.
