West Europe Marketing Science team is a specialist business unit providing consulting and advanced statistics across the NIQ SA&I portfolio. We act as consultants for statistical/technical advice, input into client proposals, as well as support to research teams in the design & execution of all client projects.

Reporting to the head of Brand & Media Marketing Science team, your strong background in statistics and/or data science enables you to run complex analytic projects. You will make useful contributions to discussions with clients and researchers and will recommend appropriate methodologies to design analytic/research programs which address the client's marketing/business problems. Good communication skills are important as you will present analysis to researchers/clients on a regular basis.
We are looking for someone with experience with applying a diverse range of advanced analytics to survey research and other data sources, with excellent knowledge of Regression (Logistic, Linear, Non-linear), Factor analysis, Mapping… Knowledge of other areas such as Bayesian Networks, econometric modelling, segmentation, data integration, marketing mix modelling.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver analytics projects to a high quality that meet internal stakeholders' and clients' requirements
- Maintain good working knowledge of statistical analysis techniques, both current and emerging.
- Effectively manage own workload & be responsible for managing projects.
- Maintain a broad and deep understanding of quantitative research techniques, to be able to mention appropriate solutions to client problems in a convincing way.
- Develop an understanding of the possibilities and limitations of techniques and software packages.
- Promote new techniques and approaches as well as continuously review external developments
- Ensure high quality of all finished documents
- Represent GfK's Marketing Science expertise at internal and external conferences and workshops
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor or master's degree in a field that emphasizes the learning of modelling, statistical or mathematical skills (PhD is a plus)
- 5+ years of work experience in a market research agency
- Expert modelling skills and statistics knowledge (essential)
- Expert statistical skills and knowledge of econometric techniques in:
- survey/polling statistics (sampling, non-response adjustments, Bayesian statistics), and
- econometric modelling (program evaluation, forecasting, economic theory, panel data), and/or
- observational causal inference (potential outcomes, structural equation models, instrumental variables).
- Experience in and strong interest in the following fields: pricing research, brand management, digital behavioral analysis, segmentation, media effectiveness, etc
- Expert knowledge of analytics programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and the respective tool ecosystem (e.g., R-Studio Server, Spyder, Jupyter, POSIT Workbench)
- Solid experience visualizing and communicating results of data analyses with the ability to think beyond the numbers while addressing real-world business problems
Desirable:
- Experience in open data sourcing (Google Trends, Social Mentions, etc.)
- Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Basic knowledge of Data Science such as Big Data Analytics (Machine Learning, Hadoop, Map Reduce, Hive, Spark, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing environments and tooling (AWS, Azure)
- Basic SQL skills with regards to working with relational databases
- Basic knowledge of programming in VBA
