Jordan Brand Sports Marketing Leader
You will be working closely with the VP of Sports Marketing; as well as partners on the Nike Sports Marking Planning and Operations team, and internal stakeholders such as Athlete Reps, finance, legal and cross functional partners.
We are seeking a strategic, operationally-minded leader to drive excellence across Jordan Brand's Sports Marketing function. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of athlete servicing, cross-functional collaboration, and operational rigor, with proven experience navigating complex organizational structures and driving results. This individual will thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing business priorities, athlete needs, and innovation opportunities.
You bring strong expertise in sports, finance, and analytics, along with a track record of managing teams, leading cross-functional initiatives, and building scalable systems. A servant leadership mindset, a commitment to operational excellence, and a deep passion for the sports industry are essential. We're looking for someone who will ensure that Jordan Brand meets our contractual obligations from a product ordering and inventory standpoint with contracted athletes, teams and federations. More specifically, we'll look to you to ensure Jordan Brand is providing the best service in the industry, focused on these accountabilities.
- 8–10+ years of experience in sports marketing, operations, finance, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
- Strong operational expertise: Nike supply chain experience is a plus.
- Proven success leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
- Experience in financial oversight, including budgeting, payments, and invoicing.
- Ability to design and implement scalable tools and systems to support team performance.
- Effective communicator with a demonstrated ability to influence at all levels.
- Servant leader with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of the sports landscape, sponsorships, and athlete servicing.
Strategic Planning & Integration
- Partner with the VP of Sports Marketing to execute strategic priorities, including deal execution, team planning, and investments.
- Serve as a Chief of Staff, driving alignment between the Sports Marketing team and broader Nike/Jordan Brand processes (e.g., Code process).
- Anticipate team and leadership needs; support annual planning and drive organizational rhythm.
- Monitor team health, morale, and operations flow; ensure alignment to team priorities and adapt quickly to shifting business needs.
- Support the Sports Marketing team for negotiations, evaluation and analysis on maximizing partnership value. You will be responsible for managing the Strategic Planning Process and output. Ensure timely updates, accountability, and communication.
- Oversee execution and tracking of all athlete payments, including base comp, bonuses, royalties, and charitable contributions.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all financial processes and systems.
- Represent the Sports Marketing team in enterprise-wide initiatives, advocating for team needs and alignment with new Nike systems and processes.
Product Operations & Contract Fulfillment
- Lead athlete product servicing across individual athletes, clubs, federations, and events.
- Oversee the forecast, plan, and manage orderbooks in line with contractual allowances, key sport moments, and seasonal needs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to execute promo product ordering, delivery, and inventory strategies.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of athlete onboarding into Nike systems, ensuring compliance, service excellence, and timely fulfillment.
- Maintain and report against key operational KPIs, including inventory health, delivery timelines, and product readiness.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage tracking of athlete commitments, ensuring up-to-date documentation and communication to stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead and mentor a high-performing service team of four direct reports and one consultant.
- Manage the team's buyer and ensure alignment between product strategy and athlete needs.
- Foster a collaborative, optimistic, and inclusive team culture centered on excellence and accountability.
- Facilitate weekly team meetings to share updates, align on priorities, and build team cohesion.
